They tell so much about the writer you've interviewed as a person and since I'll be working with Sessha through Pfoxmoor, it's nice to have an understanding.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-43905348168571177.post-79712365986925036932011-01-13T16:55:39.195+11:002011-01-13T16:55:39.195+11:00Thank you Jake and George, Sessha was a delight to...Thank you Jake and George, Sessha was a delight to interview. I'm still stunned that the 'mainstream' turns it's head away from the Erotica genre. One wonders what they are afraid of.
As for Japan and the culture of acceptance, history appears to have ensured that the culture of this marvelous land is more accepting of all sexuality and the embracing of experiences outside what we in the west consider the 'norm'. Normal is a much overvalued word. I have yet to find a definition of the word that sits comfortably.Soooz Burkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02390489724415063410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-43905348168571177.post-12094429704185926472011-01-13T16:02:44.404+11:002011-01-13T16:02:44.404+11:00A comment on homoerotica and homosexuality in Japa...A comment on homoerotica and homosexuality in Japan: There doesn't seem to be any prejudice against homosexuality here. Any number of popular entertainers, singers, TV personalities, etc., are openly homosexual. It is a welcome relief from growing up in and living in the West, with its homophobic traditions. Much healthier.George Polleyhttp://www.monkeyravenandbear.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-43905348168571177.post-2321299909003595252011-01-13T09:47:43.884+11:002011-01-13T09:47:43.884+11:00A fascinating interview with a remarkable writer. ...A fascinating interview with a remarkable writer. This is writing that smacks the reader about the head, powerful and emotive fiction that takes the term 'escapism' by the throat and won't let go. This is a world that will be alien to virtually every reader, yet it remains compellingly effective.
Poppet, as ever, has touched on the unique nature of the author's writing. This is as far removed from mass-market 'popular' fiction as it is possible to be. The revelation that Sessha has not yet been able to visit Japan is intriguing. She brings the culture and history of the country to life through her words, a remarkable feat.
A word too for the interviewer. Not for the first time I'm drawn to admire the relaxed style that draws out such responses from her subjects. Sessha's work is unique and deserves publication.

Now we watch and wait...surely there is a Publisher out there with enough backbone to go with a work of this calibre.Soooz Burkehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02390489724415063410noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-43905348168571177.post-14268579100613394542011-01-12T22:47:37.497+11:002011-01-12T22:47:37.497+11:00I'd like to add that I read some of Shinobi. It's an excellent read which is far more than simply *brutal* scenes. I love the samurai and found that aspect of the work brilliant too. I would happily buy this book. It takes balls to write like she does, which is probably why so many men feel threatened by her, she's got bigger balls than they have.

Her writing stands alone, it can't be compared to anyone else or their style. Watch this girl, she's a trend setter if only she could find a publisher with balls big enough to publish it :DPoppet Authorhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01552149804268841961noreply@blogger.com
