She's lost her husband, her best friend is missing. What else has she got to lose?
Slightly shady freighter captain, Jess Sondijk, thought she had her life under control until Admiral Hudson's Confederacy battle cruiser stops her ship to search for contraband. His questions reopen matters she had thought resolved. What if her husband's death on his way back from Tabora wasn't accidental? Jess decides to investigate, while keeping Hudson at arms' length.
While he's attracted to the lovely Jess, Hudson is also concerned about what might be happening on Tabora and how that may involve the Confederacy's enemies.
Jess and Hudson's interests collide in more ways than one. But while Jess is more than willing to put her life on the line to protect what's hers, Hudson must balance the risk of inter-species war at worst and the end of his career at best, in a deadly game of political intrigue, murder and greed. At the end of the day, how much is he willing to lose for the woman he has come to love?

First I want to say what an exquisitely designed webssite this is. Soooz is not only a brilliant writer, but a generous and hard-working promoter of other writers' works.
ReplyDeleteToday we have an insight into the life and work of a sci-fi writer who knows that cross-genres are the way to go with e-book readers, who like their thrillers and their sci-fi and their fantasies laced with romance. It is, after all, what makes the world go round. "Starheart" by Greta van der Rol is a perfect example of this.
Ooh this sounds like just my kind of read :) Thanks to Soooz for bringing this book to my attention, and for doing March Madness!
ReplyDeleteI've read some of Greta's work, and this lady can weave atmosphere into a thimble if she wanted to. Lovely choice for the day!
ReplyDeleteI've yet to read any of Greta's work. It sounds like I've been missing something. And a fellow Australian. She must be good!
ReplyDeleteI know Greta is an excellent writer, and here is a book which sounds, from the description, just the sort of thing I enjoy. Thanks for promoting this, Soooz!
ReplyDeleteThank you all for making my Saturday morning :) And thanks to the wonderful Sooz for giving me the opportunity.
ReplyDeleteI didn't realize you lived in Australia, Greta. Queensland is a nice state. I always enjoy visiting.
ReplyDeleteI like your description of Jess as slightly shady. That made me want to read about her straightaway.
Good Morning Lovelies! I am delighted with the responses and still 10 hours left to go!
ReplyDeleteGreta has a wonderful touch with cross genre Science Fiction with a dash of hot romance! What a great combination.

Greta, I find your characters' background conflict intriguing. That alone makes me interested to find out how their story goes.
ReplyDeleteSorry I haven't answered you all individually. One of the downsides of where I live (and there aren't many) is a pathetic internet connection. Thanks all for your support. I enjoyed writing Starheart and I hope you enjoy reading it.
ReplyDeleteThank you all for participating in Today's Author promotion.
ReplyDeleteThe winner of the wonderful Starheart by Greta van der Rol is ...
