Jean Joachim is a
best-selling romance fiction author, with books hitting the Amazon Top 100 list
since 2012. She writes mostly contemporary romance, which includes sports
romance and romantic suspense.
Dangerous
Love Lost & Found, First Place winner in the 2015 Oklahoma Romance Writers
of America, International Digital Award contest.
The Renovated Heart won Best Novel of the Year from Love
Romances Café. Lovers & Liars was a RomCon finalist in 2013. And The
Marriage List tied for third place as Best Contemporary Romance from the Gulf
Coast RWA.
To Love or Not to
Love tied for second place in the 2014 New England Chapter of Romance Writers
of America Reader’s Choice contest. She was chosen Author of the Year in 2012
by the New York City chapter of RWA.
Married and the mother of two sons, Jean lives in New
York City. Early in the morning, you’ll find her at her computer, writing, with
a cup of tea, her rescued pug, Homer, by her side and a secret stash of black
licorice.
Plans for 2016:
I have big plans for 2016. I’ve
already begun bringing my books to international markets and audio books. I’m
finishing my football series and planning to bring out a baseball romance
series. After that, I’m planning to write two more series, one about cowboys
and one involving rural romance. But those series may have to wait until 2017.
A brief chat with the Author.
Have you always known
that writing was in your destiny?
No. I hoped it was,
but never thought I could be good enough.
When did you discover
that?
I discovered a
facility for writing in the world of advertising. My first writing gig was as a
radio copywriter for a radio station. I loved creating commercials. Years
later, I wrote a nonfiction book for St. Martin’s Press. But I didn’t get to
writing fiction for years after that. When I finally allowed myself to try it,
I found I loved it so much I didn’t want to do anything else. And I’ve been
writing fiction ever since.
Do you have a
personal favorite amongst your many published books or series?
That’s like asking a
mother who her favorite child is. Each book is so different, it’s impossible to
compare them. I love Mac and Danny from my Now and Forever series. The Marriage
List is great if you’re feeling depressed. The Hollywood Hearts series is
glamorous, The Manhattan Dinner Club is poignant with funny pugs and the First
& Ten series has football action scenes and riveting love stories. How
could I possibly choose?
If you had words of
advice to share with other authors, what would they be?
Keep writing, work on
improving your craft always use edits, learn everything you can. This is a
tough business.
Do you have a
favorite Author?
Two. Jane Austen and
Sinclair Lewis. And some of my author friends whose books I consume.
Do you want to write
in other genres? If so what and why?
My first love was
Nancy Drew. I have written two romantic suspense books with another writer. I
intend to have at least one mystery series, after I run out of romances, which
may not be for some time.

new First and Ten series. There is nothing not to like in this well written and
sensual read. The characters are fun, sexy, and engaging. The plot is tight,
the dialog crisp, and the bed play hot. I can`t wait to get my hands on the
next book. If you`re looking for a new sports romance series, look no further!

While I'm not a sports fan in real life I'm
becoming a real fan of sports romance novels. This is my first football romance
and adored Griff. He was rough on the outside, but had a heart heart of gold.
The rough-talking charmer won my heart from from the first page.
Griff and Lauren's story is a real emotional roller coaster and I don't want to give any spoilers, but it could have some emotional triggers for women. I cried my eyes out in certain scenes.
I loved the slow build of the romance,the hot love scenes,and the camaraderie between the players and look forward to seeing more in the series.

I love Jean Joachim's
work and this one certainly doesn't disappoint!! Make sure you have time to
read this in one sitting, you won't want to put it down. From page one the
reader engages with Meg and Chaz. It's very easy to invest in these characters
and I found myself laughing and smiling along, and even let loose a tear or two
at times. I would recommend this to any reader, it has everything you could
want, the ups and downs of a real relationship and the HEA every woman wants.
It definitely let you wanting more, as the end was kind of a cliff hanger (not
to Meg and Chad's story) I can't wait for book 2!
I loved this story of
Megan and Chaz (Dunc). Megan is a witty and smart financial advisor who is put
in charge of developing a celebrity division in her firm and Chaz is a gorgeous
actor who becomes her first client. Megan has a famous football star as her
twin, so the celebrity status doesn’t faze her, nor is it a scene she wants any
part of. Chaz prefers to stay out of the lime light and because of his status,
he hasn’t been big on dating because how does he know if someone wants him for
him or wants him because of his fame.
Their initial meeting was
great, especially when Megan put his status on the table stating: “I don’t give
a damn you’re famous, okay. Can we get that straight? I’m not impressed, not
going to grovel at your feet. You’re simply a potential client whose money I
may be managing. No more and no less. I’m not going to swoon and ask for an
autograph or throw myself at you. Of course, I’ll do my best to take care of
your money as if it was my own, but that’s as far as it goes.” As far as it
goes….famous last words. The attraction between them is instant. As they begin
their professional relationship, a personal connection begins and the most
difficult bond of trust is formed when they both share private and painful
stories of their past.
The meatloaf dinner was
heartwarming and really showed us the loving, caring side of Dunc from the
Bronx.
Jean tells a realistic
love story with the trials and tribulations a celebrity couple endures from the
celebrity gossip rags and people who are jealous of what others have. When the
jealousy of others rears its ugly head, a scandal is created and threatens the
careers of both Megan and Chaz and their budding relationship. Is their love
for one another strong enough to overcome the obstacles thrown at them?
This is definitely a book I highly recommend and I look forward to more in the series. I hope Quinn is next!
