So I received a lovely email from my delightful new friend Brenda Youngerman, and found myself mentioned {In a nice way} on her site...how great is that! Thanks Brenda.
Brenda inivted us to create A post on this weeks Ponderings to do with Friends we have made here in the world of cyberspace.
I hardly know where to begin. I have met the most marvelously supportive people and since the release of my biography they have been even more so.
At the risk of getting all warm and fuzzy {I don't normally do warm and fuzzy} well...except where baby animals and cute kids and Johnny Depp are concerned ...er-hem, where was I? Oh yeah...warm and Fuzzy.
If I make a list I would be sure to leave someone off unintentionally and risk hurt feelings...can't do that.
If I single people out...it could cause someone else to wonder perhaps I didn't consider them a friend ..Uh-uh, can't do that.
If I made a speech I'd still be talking after the next Academy Awards...can't do that.
SO...What CAN I do?
Ponder. ponder..pace pace...Ponder ponder..you get the picture...pacing and pondering, pondering and pacing...Ah HUH! Got it! Oh ...wait...no I think that's possibly illegal . Sigh...pace etc etc etc.....
Got it...at last, jumps for joy...I'm exhausted, all that ponder and pace stuff is very tiring you know...
I will simply say...THANK YOU..to all the wonderful folks here in cyberspace that have contributed in some way to my life....and that means ALL OF YOU, who have ever commented, supported, laughed with, worried about , helped out , corrected and protected.
I am PROUD to be considered a friend.
Isn't the blogging community amazing? When I started a blog, I told myself that I wouldn't let it take over my life. But it has. Purely because I have so much fun doing stuff on my blog and commenting on other blogs, that I want to be on the Internet all the time :-) It's nice to have people who really get your love for books.
ReplyDeleteHi Alison, and yes I find myself on here for soooo many hours a day, in between writing my new novel and editing two others. Eeeekk, not enough hours in my days anymore and that is wonderful, I have a TBR list a mile long and love it.
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower on your delightful blog as well.
Thanks for stopping by, I appreciate it.
I love the blogging community, I too, met the most wonderful, warm-hearted and supportive people ever! I just luuuuuv it! :)
ReplyDeleteI made it to Brenda's list, too. She is such a sweet person!
Cheers!
Hi Soooz
ReplyDeleteSame story here. I have made so many new friends from literally every corner of the world and everyone is so nice.
When I started blogging, I didn't really know what to expect, but now it is so much a part of my everyday life, that I wouldn't know what to do if it wasn't there.
Yvonne
Hey Soooz,
ReplyDeleteBack at ya! xx
Hi Evie, and Yvonne..at Fiction Books if memory serves me correctly, I live alone in an isolated community and the Internet and the generous and marvelous folks I have met here have allowed me to feel less alone. I will be moving back to the beautiful city of Sydney next month and am looking forward to it a great deal.
ReplyDeleteHiya Jo...hugs x
I can only echo your remarks, Soooz, and add my thanks to all the people I've met in cyberspace who have and continue to contribute to much to my life and my writing career. They've opened doors I didn't know existed and made my life richer for the experience. And one of them is you, Soooz. Thank you!
ReplyDeleteHi Sooz,
ReplyDeleteI love how you incorporated the pondering with a purpose into your beach -- and now that I know we are both Depp fans our friendship just went one notch higher! Thanks for pondering along with me!
